the visual artist

di’s creativity in the visual arts reflects her in-depth knowledge and experience of music. Since 1993 her artistic energies primarily have been focussed on drawing and painting and her art has fast become recognised. Di’s paintings and pastels are held in more than 150 collections in six Australian states, Europe, the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Germany and the USA. In just fifteen years Di has exhibited twice in London and Paris, shown in five solo exhibitions and has exhibited representative works in more than 20 group exhibitions. Di’s exhibitions (with the Art Committee, Australian Kidney Foundation) were opened by Jeff Kennett, then Premier of Victoria, Australia (1998) and by John Landy AO MBE Governor of Victoria (2001). Earlier solo exhibitions were opened by Ronald Farren-Price AM in 1993 and David Williamson AO in 1994. Her first highly successful London exhibition was opened by Piers Lane (1995)

With decades of performing, teaching and adjudicating experience di has guided many students through to professional status and her students have won numerous highly regarded awards. An adjudicator of national and international experience Di has psychological insight, first-hand knowledge of virtuosic technique and a history of successful recognition of elite talent. Di now works with a select group of highly gifted pianists, has 25 years experience as an examiner and adjudicator and is widely known and respected for her vision and dedication to the Youth Music Foundation of Australia Inc. An original and founding member Di has guided the YMFA since its inception in 1988 and incorporation in 1990. The YMFA assists young Australian artists abroad. The YMFA has strategic relationships with leading music institutions in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom. The YMFA is recognised by the Australian Federal Government as a worthy arts body and donations are tax deductible.
